Many will agree that the current state of the planet we live in has been deteriorating at a rate much faster than perceived, which is evidenced by the increasing level of garbage that can be found all around us. One of the major contributors to this is the prominent use of plastic bags in a range of retail shops, and the sad reality is that these non-biodegradable items end up thrown in the garbage more often than not. What’s even worse is that of the billions of bags used by people in today’s society every year, only a very small percentage of that actually gets recycled for re-use. That is why it has become absolutely necessary for people to do their part, and the best thing to do is to use reusable bags instead of disposable plastic ones. Though it may sound like a small step, the effect can actually be substantial if a lot of people were to contribute. Plenty of signs have already popped out with regards to this worsening waste problem that the world faces, and it is just about time to change for the better.
Aside from plastic bags, another major contributor to the waste problem that populates dump sites and landfills are packaging materials and gift wrappers. Instead of using new paper when wrapping gifts, the use of seed paper is much more advisable. They look very nice, and they are good for the environment as well. Thankfully, the awareness level on this subject has grown significantly over the past few years.
